Daughtry speaks to the Four Rivers Patriots Chapter

The Four Rivers Patriots Chapter, Georgia Society Sons of the American Revolution, held its monthly meeting Thursday night, May 21, Chatters Restaurant in Lyons at 6 p.m. With President Joel Keener presiding, they had 21 in attendance. After the invocation by Chaplain Emory Fennell, President Joel led the Pledge to the U.S. Flag and the Pledge to the SAR. Joel then asked East Fall Line Region Vice President Dess Smith to introduce the speaker for the evening, Compatriot Hu Daughtry of the Mill Creek Chapter in Statesboro. He presented his program on "Soldiers named Dickey". President Joel then called on Dan Brown for a special presentation. Dess then presented Sgt.-at-Arms Dan Brown with five Chapter Streamers; three from the Georgia Society for 2025, State PG Chapter of Distinction Streamer, Distinguished Chapter Streamer, Membership Streamer and also the three Patriot Grave Marking Streamer from the Wright Square Burial Ground in Brunswick and the 248th Anniversary of the Frederica Naval Action on Saint Simons Island Streamer for presenting the Chapter Wreath at each event. President Joel then asked new members William Earl Collins, Sr. and William Earl Collins, Jr. to come forward and be inducted into the Four Rivers Patriots Chapter. Emory Fennell, Joyce Fennell and Bill Carmichael were also in attendance. President Joel then asked a member of the chapter to lead the Chapter in the SAR Recessional and Emory Fennell said the benediction. The next meeting will be Thursday night, June 18, at Chatters Restaurant at 6 p.m.
