DAR Youth Leadership winners

Each year the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR) annually presents the Youth Leadership Award to a student in the 8th grade. The 8th grade teachers and students select someone that exemplifies the following attributes: honesty, high principles, loyalty, unselfishness, leadership, good sportsmanship, and responsibility to God, Home, and Country. The Governor David Emanuel-Adam Brinson Chapter, NSDAR, presented awards to these deserving 8th graders: David Emanuel Academy – Lexie Starley; Emanuel County Institute – Lane Sherrod; and Swainsboro Middle School – Alice Lopez-Acosta. The DAR program aims to promote a greater appreciation of the qualities of citizenship and leadership among students.
