DAR Youth Citizenship winners

Each year the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR) present the Youth Citizenship Award to a student in the eighth grade. The eighth grade teachers and students select someone that exemplifies the following attributes: honesty, high principles, loyalty, unselfishness, leadership, good sportsmanship, and responsibility to God, Home, and Country. The Governor David Emanuel-Adam Brinson Chapter, NSDAR, presented awards to these deserving eighth graders at each school in the county. The eighth grade student from David Emanuel Academy – Dorothy Catherine Youmans; Emanuel County Institute – Lola Walden; Swainsboro Middle School – Alexus Mercer. The DAR program aims to promote a greater appreciation of the

qualities of citizenship among students.
