COVID-19 update: Active cases decline by 18, death count remains stagnant

According to the county commissioners’ noon update before press time Tuesday, October 13, the total active cases of COVID-19 in Emanuel has decreased to 43.

There have been 1,262 total confirmed cases. Of those confirmed cases, 1,185 patients have recovered while 34 have died. Altogether, 6,729 patients have been tested; 108 of those patients are awaiting results.

This week’s active count of 43 indicates a decrease of 18 cases from the previous week.

The report on October 6 was as follows:

  • 61 active cases
  • 1,221 confirmed cases
  • 1,126 recovered
  • 6,145 total patients tested
  • 135 patients awaiting results

The death count of 34 has remained stagnant since September 30.
