Chief Ellison speaks to Veterans

The Veterans at the Library held their weekly meeting at the Franklin Memorial Library Monday, March 4, at 9 a.m. The roll of attendees included 52 veterans including Chairman John Tapley who opened the meeting and introduced Swainsboro Police Chief Randy Ellison . The Chief spoke about the status of the Swainsboro Police Department and the everyday security that they provide to the citizens of Swainsboro. One item that he touched on was the level of illegal drugs, including fentanyl, that was available in Swainsboro and what they were doing to arrest those responsible. Chair Tapley reminded the group to Sell, Sell, Sell those Tournament hole sponsorships for the 1st Annual Veterans Golf Tournament to be held on May 18th. The group thanks the UDC for serving the weekly breakfast. Martha Cobb fed the vets sausage biscuits from McDonald's including orange juice, cranberry juice, grape juice, apple juice and coffee.
