At the Annual Chamber of Commerce Banquet held Thursday, January 28, Chapman Funeral Home was named ‘Business of the Year’.

In every community, there are organizations that quietly but profoundly serve others. A funeral home is one of those places. A place where families are met with compassion, understanding, and care during their most vulnerable times. For many of us, Chapman Funeral Home has been that place. A family-owned business here in Swainsboro, Chapman Funeral Home, doesn’t just provide a service, they provide comfort, guidance, and a steady presence when it is needed most. Chapman Funeral Home is more than business; it is a place of remembrance and support while families honor their loved ones with dignity and respect.

Chapman Funeral Home began as the shared dream of Billy Vann Chapman, Sr., whose vision was to one day establish a funeral home rooted in faith and compassion while serving the community he so loved. That vision began to take shape in 1996 when his son, Billy Chapman, Jr., founded Southeast Vault and Monument Company. The knowledge and invaluable experience he gained over the next nine years would lead to his purchase of Eastbrook Cemetery and Mausoleum in 2005. Together, these two businesses would lay the groundwork for the realization of a long-held family dream. In 2010, Chapman Funeral Home was officially established, fulfilling the vision that Billy Sr. and Billy Jr. had shared for many years, providing families with dignified, caring, and professional funeral services.

After 13 years of service, Chapman Funeral Home expanded in 2023 with the purchase of Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors, further strengthening its presence and ability to serve Swainsboro and the surrounding communities. The Chapman family’s commitment to compassionate care has continued to grow and now includes Loving Paws Petuary. Owned and operated by Bryce Chapman, Loving Paws Petuary is dedicated to honoring the cherished bond shared between families and their loving pets.

Today, Chapman Funeral Home employs more than 20 dedicated staff members and remains steadfast in its mission to provide respectful, personalized care to every family it serves. As a trusted and longstanding presence in the community, Chapman Funeral Home offers a peaceful and supportive environment where they help families navigate difficult decisions, create meaningful tributes, and begin the healing process. It is a place where families can gather to honor, celebrate, and remember their loved ones.

The ministry of Chapman Funeral Home remains proudly family-based and is guided by the faithfulness and dedication of Billy’s wife and Chief Financial Officer, Brandi Chapman; and sons Brandon Chapman who manages and operates Southeast Vault and Monument Company; and Bryce Chapman, owner of Loving Paws Petuary and Chief Operating Officer of Chapman Funeral Home. Together, they continue a legacy built on service, integrity, and compassion.
