Chamber Champion Spotlight: March 2026

For more than two decades, Waffle King has been more than just a familiar sign on South Main Street in Swainsboro, Georgia. Since its opening in 2000, the restaurant has woven itself into the fabric of the community, serving as a gathering place for neighbors, friends, families, and even the local law enforcement officers, who can often be seen sharing breakfast before their shifts. When Charlie Crowder took over the helm in 2013, he honored the tradition of hearty, home-cooked meals while adding his own personal touch, including the WK Café Grill Menu, which the Diner now features.

"The WK is locally managed and led by our long-term mother and son team, Michelle and Jasper Henry." Crowder explained, "Jasper also serves as the Director of Operations for the Corporate and Franchise Restaurants. We are most proud of our long-term professional team, chef-type cooks, and top-notch servers. They all embody the “it’s my pleasure” mindset as their mission for our beloved customers.

The mission at Waffle King is simple: Serve delicious food with a smile on the side.

What sets Swainsboro’s Waffle King apart isn’t just their hospitality or the tempting aroma of pancakes, pork chops, coffee, and biscuits. It’s the daily lunch specials, crafted with care and served Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., that draw regulars and newcomers alike. Whether it’s breakfast at sunrise or a late-night dinner, the doors are open to all, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

“We strive to be the best in serving top-quality food and providing royal service," Crowder said, echoing the values that guide every plate and every interaction.

"The goals here are straightforward: great food, great service, and top-notch cleanliness, but behind the scenes, the heart of our local Waffle King is always giving back to the community."

They proudly support local high school athletics, the Adrian Police Department, and are a longtime member of the Swainsboro-Emanuel County Chamber of Commerce.

“Giving back,” Crowder said, “is just part of being a good neighbor.”

When asked why they joined the Chamber, Crowder’s reply is as warm as a strawberry waffle with a whipped cream smile:

"Because we love the Emanuel County Chamber of Commerce and all of the community involvement and local activities they provide for this community."

Beyond the classics, Swainsboro Waffle King offers juicy, choice-cut ribeye steaks, real Belgian waffles, cornbread fritters, and made-to-order pork chops and country-fried steaks. Lunchtime brings homemade desserts, and every Wednesday night, homemade spaghetti with salad and Texas toast.

The restaurant also offers an enclosed dining room that's perfect for family reunions, civic club meetings, church groups or bible studies, business meetings, birthday parties, milestone and lifetime celebrations, and much more!
