As of last week, another church located within Emanuel County lines has fallen victim to burglary once again.

On Thursday, October 1, Emanuel County 911 dispatched Emanuel County Sheriff’s Office deputies to Mt. Zion Baptist Church, located on Mt. Olivet Church Road, in reference to a report involving burglary by forced entry, criminal trespass, and theft by taken.

Upon arrival, the complainant reported that the front door lock of the church had been broken and pried open, allowing the unknown offender(s) access to the property. Two speakers and a cordless microphone were reported to be stolen from the church setting.

Emanuel County Sheriff’s Department is currently working the reported church burglaries of Union Chapel Baptist Church as well as Mt. Zion Baptist Church, and Twin City Police Department is working the recent burglary of Cooper Baptist Church. Any leads on these three recent burglaries should be reported to the ECSO or TCPD.
