Results for the November 4 election for Emanuel County are as follows:
In a race for mayor, Lillie Ann Brown emerged victorious over Johnny E. Tapley, Jr. in the November 4 municipal election. Brown secured 629 votes to Tapley's 550. She will succeed current mayor Greg Bennett, who did not seek re-election.
The Swainsboro City Council will also see new faces in the coming year. Gregory Quarterman ran unopposed and will retain his seat representing District 6. Tjuna Culbreth, also unopposed, will take over the District 4 seat from Bobbie Collins, who did not qualify for re-election. In District 3, Brad McKenzie won with 145 votes, defeating K.E. McNeal, who received 65 votes.
In Twin City, voters re-elected commissioners for Districts 1 and 2. Jule Bady, Jr. won the District 1 seat with 138 votes, defeating James Ward (67 votes). Charles Moody secured the District 2 seat again with 158 votes, overcoming challenger John Allen Brown, who received 46 votes.
Voters also weighed in on two alcohol-related referendums. The proposal to allow Sunday sales of alcohol beverages in the county by the drink was defeated, with 1,506 votes against and 1,474 in favor. However, Sunday package sales were approved by a slim margin—1,492 votes to 1,482.
All newly elected officials will begin their terms in January 2026.
