Emanuel Medical Center has announced that Lynn Brinson has joined its staff as Director of Development. In her new role, Brinson will work within the community to identify and develop resources to help the medical center advance its mission.

“Emanuel Medical Center is a tremendous asset to our community, and I am excited to be a part of its continued growth,” said Brinson.

One of Brinson’s key responsibilities will include administering the Georgia HEART Hospital Program for Emanuel Medical Center. Introduced in 2017, the program allows Georgia taxpayers to receive a state income tax credit for 100% of the amount contributed to qualifying hospitals.

“It is not often that we can tell the government how we would like our tax dollars to be spent,” said Brinson, “but we are fortunate to live in the only state that allows its citizens and businesses to commit their state income tax dollars directly to qualifying local hospitals.”

Emanuel Medical Center is one of 55 rural hospitals around the state that qualify for participation in the Georgia HEART Hospital Program.

“Though signing up for the Georgia HEART Hospital Program is simple, if anyone would like assistance with the process, I am here to help,” Brinson stated.

The Director’s duties will also include working to secure grant funding, developing community partnerships, and facilitating the efforts of the Emanuel County Hospital Foundation.

Brinson has long been a part of the local community, having served as Director of Downtown Development for the Downtown Development Authority of Swainsboro and City of Swainsboro, and most recently, as General Manager and Director of Sales for RadioJones, LLC. She is a member of the Emanuel County Festival Foundation and Emanuel Arts Council Board of Directors and is a graduate of Leadership Emanuel, the Georgia Academy for Economic Development, and the Georgia Department of Community Affairs Community Planning Institute. She was recognized in The Forest-Blade’s inaugural 20 Under 40 class and was the Pine Tree Festival’s Green Jacket Recipient last year.

Brinson is a native of Jenkins County and a proud graduate of Georgia Southern University with a Bachelor of Science in Communications – Public Relations and a Master of Business Administration. She is married to Daniel Brinson and they have two children, Nate and Katie.

“There are so many great things happening at Emanuel Medical Center as well as its clinics and the Emanuel County Nursing Home, and programs such as Georgia HEART play a vital role in our ability to continue developing and improving those assets for everyone in the community,” Brinson said.
