Brier Creek SAR 2021 officers installed

The Brier Creek Chapter of the Georgia Society Sons of the American Revolution held its monthly meeting Thursday, Jan. 7, at 7 p.m. at the American Legion in Sylvania. With President Lee Smith presiding, there were 19 members and guests in attendance. An additional 15 members and guests had met earlier at 6 p.m. at Pop’s Kitchen for a great meal. 
President Lee presented Registrar Dess Smith III with a certificate of appreciation in recognition of outstanding support given to the Sons of the American Revolution. He also asked Dess to present DAR member Jane Durden with a certificate of appreciation from the Brier Creek Chapter at the next Wiregrass Chapter meeting in recognition of outstanding support given to the Sons of the American Revolution. 

Georgia Society Senior Vice President David Jessel presented his program on his U.S. Navy career. SVP Jessel then installed four of the 2021 Brier Creek Chapter officers, including President Wayne Howard, Secretary Dennis Wiggins, Sgt-at-Arms Don Bazemore and Past-President Lee Smith. Brenda Jessel talked with members about the Georgia Society Women's Auxiliary and the support that they give to the Georgia Society. She presented 2021 President Wayne Howard with a U.S. Flag to place wherever he wanted and also presented 2021 Past-President Lee Smith with a U.S. Flag to place wherever he wanted.
