Brier Creek Battlefield clean-up day

Posted

The Brier Creek Revolutionary War Battlefield Association, plus Sons of the American Revolution members from the Brier Creek Chapter, Wiregrass Chapter, Mill Creek Chapter, and the Little River Chapter gathered on Saturday, June 17, 2023, for a major upgrade of the Brier Creek battlefield and memorial. Besides the workers shown in the photo, other members of the BCRWBA that brought heavy equipment were, Tommy Christopher, Stephen Hammond and John Fitzner. The photographer was Sherry Christopher. Some six acres were mowed by five mowers consisting of regular riding mowers, push mowers, zero turn mowers and a tractor pulled bush-hog. While the mowing was going on, the backhoe and front-end loader were busy preparing the location on the south memorial wall to receive the large granite stones from the north wall. All this is in preparation for the new large flagpole that will later be installed, surrounded by pavers that are being purchased by families all over the State of Georgia. We have two sizes of pavers to choose from: 4" X 8" paver with three lines and 15 characters per line for $250.00 and the 8" X 16" paver with 7 lines and 30 characters per line for $750.00.
