On Friday, April 17, the Brier Creek Artillery consisting of three cannons and four crew members, traveled to Wright Square Burial Ground in Brunswick to attend the grave marking of four American Revolutionary War Patriots. Those Skunkers were Commander Steve Burke, Dess Smith III, Lee Herron, Don Bazemore and Bill Tankersley. After the invocation, K. Scott Collins, GASSAR Color Guard Commander, and the Color Guard, presented the Colors. After the Pledge of Allegiance, National Anthem and the SAR Pledge, Compatriot Steven Hinson introduced the Guests. President William Tankersley brought greeting from the Georgia Society, SAR, Helen Powell, Regent, Georgia State Society DAR brought greetings from the Georgia State Society DAR and Honorable Gwen Atlkinson-Williams, Commissioner, brought greetings from the City of Brunswick. Then the biography of each Patriot was read: Captain John Culter Braddock, Private Frederick Lamb, Patriot Thomas Stone and Patriot David Moses Vallotton. The dedication of the Markers was held and then the Wreath Presentations were presented by 40 different groups. Commander Scott Collins then held the musket firing salute and Commander Steve Burke held the cannon firing salute. After the firing, mourn musket salute was held, and taps was played on the bugle. SAR Recessional was said, and Commander Collins and the Color Guard Retired the Colors.
