The Brier Creek Artillery traveled to the Franklin Memorial Library in Swainsboro on Saturday, March 7, to present their Travelin Trunk at the 250th Pages and Powder Revolutionary History Day at the Library event. All Compatriots had an awesome day celebrating the history event. Thank you, Library Director Windy Ward for inviting us to participate in this great event. The Brier Creek Artillery set up right next to the library in their parking lot facing Hwy 80 at 9:00 Saturday and showed off their three 6-pounder cannons at 11:00, 12:00, 1:00 and 2:00. They fired each, 1 time on the hour for a total of 12 shots to honor those brave patriots that fought during the Revolutionary War for our freedoms that we have today. There were about 24 attendees. Compatriot Lee Herron spoke inside the library about the Brier Creek Battlefield and what happened at the battlefield on March 3, 1779, at 11:00 and at 1:00. Steve Burke presented his 5 tables of Trunklin Trunk items outside by the canons. Those attending: Commander Steve Burke, Lee Herron, Don Bazemore, and Dess Smith III. HUZZAH!!!
