The Emanuel County Board of Education met on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, at 5:30 p.m. at the Swainsboro Primary School cafeteria with the following members in attendance: John Allen Bailey, Del Brown, Cherie Hooks, Tanya Lane, Johnny Parker, and Sandra Swinney. Chairman Del Brown welcomed everyone calling the meeting to order. Johnny Parker delivered the invocation followed by Del Brown leading the Pledge of Allegiance. A motion was made by Johnny Parker to accept the agenda as presented. Tanya Lane seconded. John Allen Bailey, Del Brown, Cherie Hooks, Tanya Lane, Johnny Parker, and Sandra Swinney voted “yes”. CARRIED.

The Board approved an amended consent agenda with changes made to the July 31, 2023, called Board meeting minutes removing Cherie Hooks as being present for the meeting.
