BOE enters contract with ESS for substitute placement services

The Emanuel County Board of Education met Tuesday, September 14, at 5:30 p.m. at Twin City Elementary School for their regular monthly meeting. Chairman Mason Henry called a meeting to order and welcome all. Del Brown then gave the invocation and Johnny Parker led in the Pledge of Allegiance. Board members approved changes be made to the nights agenda. The amendment request was unanimously approved by all board members.

In reference to superintendent comments

•Student recognition was made to the following students:

ECI students Haley Patel and Addi Marsh along with Anna Johnson, advisor, and Anetria Edenfield, Principal - FCCLA nationals for silver in food innovations level two; Shanna Wilkerson, president of the ECI Chapter, along with Tori Pellerin, sponsor, - ECI FFA Silver National 2-Star Chapter; Jessica Hirst was recognized for receiving a $10,000 GADOE Rural Education Fund Grant that sponsored 30 virtual reality goggles for elementary grade students.

•GSBA strategic planning was in discussed as well as

•approval of Swainsboro middle school flat roof application

•An ESS contract for providing substitute placement for teachers and other positions within the school district,

•FY 22 COVID-19 related leave, as well as an

•updated executive session affidavit

Following discussion held on the consent agenda, the board approved the agenda as presented.

Having no public comments scheduled for the evening, the board entered into executive session. Upon re-entering normal session, the following was announced.

Board members approved the employment of the Dashawn Bond, Mary Clover, Sarah Sarah Faison, Tracey Lee, Carolyn McNeil, Regina Paul, and Janet Snooks, substitute teachers; Lacresha Brown, custodian; Eugene Channel, and Rilene Gardner, substitute custodians; Donna Graham, substitute bus driver; Francis Spears, bus driver; and Rebecca Mills, payroll specialist.

Board members approved the resignation of Teachers, Terri Dudley and Rachel Spinn.

The board approved the resignation of classified employees, Mildred Sue Canady and Donna Graham, bus drivers; and Riline Gardner and Edward Johnson, custodians.
