Mrs. Betty W. Ellison, 86, of Twin City, passed away Wednesday, January 25, 2023, at her residence following an extended illness. Funeral service was held at 3 p.m. Saturday, January 28, in the chapel of Chapman Funeral Home with Elder Mike Gray officiating. Interment followed at Antioch Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family received friends from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, January 28, at Chapman Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Bryan Anderson, Roger Anderson, Chet Ellison, Chace Ellison, Brandon Neal and Benjamin Mills. Honorary Pallbearers were law enforcement officials.

Mrs. Ellison was born May 4, 1936, in Twin City, to Elzie Wiggins and Emmie Fulmer Wiggins. Her hobbies included ceramics and painting, and she enjoyed fishing. Mrs. Ellison’s most enjoyable moments were spent with family and friends. She loved her children and grandchildren. Mrs. Ellison was dedicated to following her husband around the world during his 23 years of military service. She was a member of the Eastern Star of Europe. Mrs. Ellison is preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Chad Ellison; granddaughter, Michelle Helmey; brothers, Lewis Wiggins, Buddy Wiggins, and J.T. Wiggins; sisters, Ruby Davis and Essie Mae Brogdon.

Survivors include her sons, Robert Ellison Jr. (Renee) of Baxley and Randy J. Ellison (Wanda) of Garfield; daughters, Patricia Ann Helmey (Eddie) of Guyton and Belinda Lee Ellison (Stephen Becton) of Twin City; brother, Charles Wiggins; sisters, Mary Johnson and Louise Neal; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Chapman Funeral Home of Swainsboro was in charge of arrangements.
