Posted

Denise Warnock, president of Beta Beta Chapter Delta Kappa Gamma International, called the October meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. at the Sudie Fulford Learning Center on the Campus of East Georgia State College.

She asked Selena Reynolds of the hostess committee to give the devotional. She presented a blog post from Teach 4 the Heart by Linda Kardanis and entitled “What You Do Matters,” a word of encouragement for teachers. “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.” Colossians 3:23-24.

After the delicious meal, the business session included approval of the minutes and treasurer’s reports.

Melanie Frye of the Projects Committee reminded members to bring books for children that will be placed in health departments in our four-county service area. Also, we will give goody bags to new teachers in January.

Stephanie Mason of the Research Committee introduced Jessica Hirst, School to Career Coordinator for Emanuel County Schools and 21st Century Leaders Advisor. She gave a dynamic presentation highlighting her website and services she provides for students, her work and grants to acquire

virtual reality goggles for student use and service projects designed for 21st Century Leaders.

After drawing for door prizes, the meeting was adjourned.
