At the regular meeting of the Swainsboro Exchange Club held Tuesday, February 24, club member Gary Mason introduced guest speaker Lisa Bertoch of the Emanuel Medical Center Foundation.
Bertoch provided members with an encouraging update on the many projects and improvements made possible through the Foundation’s ongoing support of Emanuel Medical Center. She highlighted recent enhancements to the nursing home, senior behavioral health unit, and dietary services, all designed to improve patient comfort and overall quality of care. In addition, the Foundation has invested in vital medical equipment across multiple departments, including the emergency department, intensive care unit (ICU), medical-surgical unit, and wound care services. These upgrades ensure that local patients continue to receive high-quality care close to home.
Bertoch also emphasized the Foundation’s commitment to supporting hospital staff. Each month, employees are recognized with gift card prizes and the Foundation proudly sponsors and funds the hospital’s BEE and DAISY Awards, which honor outstanding patient care and compassion among staff members.
Looking toward the future, Bertoch shared that the Foundation recently launched its first Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification scholarship program. The program, held at Emanuel Medical Center, provides employees with the opportunity to further their education and advance their careers in healthcare.
In appreciation of the Foundation’s continued service to the community, the Swainsboro Exchange Club presented Bertoch with a $500 donation to support the organization’s ongoing efforts.
The presentation highlighted the Emanuel Medical Center Foundation’s mission to strengthen healthcare services in the community while investing in both patients and the dedicated professionals who serve them.
