Skunk Brigade, Georgia Society Sons of the American Revolution traveled to Statesboro Thursday, April 16, to participate in the 250th Revolutionary War dedication by the NSDAR Archibald Bulloch Chapter of a NSDAR Marker as part of the 250th celebration in 2026. The program began at 10 a.m., attended by around 70 members of the DAR Chapter and citizens. The ceremony began with a call to order and welcome by Martha Ann Tanner, Regent. Then the Presentation of Colors was conducted by the Skunk Brigade and Diane Allen. After the Pledge to the United States Flag and the National Anthem, Regent Tanner introduced the guests. Helen Robertson Powell, the GSSDAR State Regent brought greetings. Mary Sue Smith, First Vice Regent, introduced the Georgia State Society DAR Essay Winner, Arabella McLamb. The Dedication of America 250 Marker was then held. After the reading of the Bullock County Revolutionary Soldiers that are buried in the county, closing remarks were held by Regent Tanner.
