Mr. Anthony “Tony” Nunn, 58, of Swainsboro, passed away Tuesday, September 7, 2021, at Emanuel Medical Center due to complications from Covid. There was an open visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, September 9.  Family was not present during this time due to Covid safety. Private graveside service was held Friday, September 10, at 10 a.m. with Dr. Tom Akins officiating. Funeral services were live streamed on Facebook on the Chapman Funeral Home Facebook Page.

Pallbearers were his nephews.  

Mr. Nunn was born September 25, 1962, in Augusta, to the late Ivy William Nunn and Shirley Glisson Ely. He loved the Georgia Bulldogs, spending time at the lake, taking long buggy rides, and working in the yards. Tony also enjoyed watching the hummingbirds and blue birds off the back porch, and cuddling with his special fur babies. He worked with the nuclear plants for over 30 years and was currently employed with PruittHealth in the maintenance department. Tony was a member of Oaky Grove Baptist Church. Mr. Nunn is preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, H.B. Ely; brother, Jerry Nunn; and stepbrothers, Howard Ely and Ronald Ely. 

Survivors include his wife, Jana Fagler Nunn of Swainsboro; sons, Ty (Jami) Fagler of Midville, Todd (Amber) Fagler of Swainsboro; grandchildren, Brack Fagler, Brody Fagler, Brantley Fagler, Randon Durden, Emma Durden, Lani Fagler, and Tyler Fagler; brother, Wayne Nunn of Atlanta; sisters, Joan (Steve) Achey, June Johnson, Mary Ann (Morris) Brantley, and Sybil Wilkerson, all of Swainsboro; half-sisters, Judy Jackson of Swainsboro and Barbara (Earl) Shirey of Adrian; step brother, Larry (Teresa) Ely of Swainsboro; stepsisters, Faye (Donald) Hall and Debra (Charles) Hadden, both of Swainsboro; beloved puppies, Panda, Boo Boo, Bella, and Jazzy; several nieces, nephews, and many friends.

The family has requested no flowers or food, and asked for memorial contributions be made to Oakey Grove Church, 54 Oaky Grove Church Rd, Wrightsville, GA 31096. 

Chapman Funeral Home of Swainsboro was in charge of arrangements.
