Another Way

When we choose to do things in life, we always want to choose the best way. Now which way is the best way for your life? Now that we are in the Christmas season, we focus more on the birth of Christ. Yes, Christmas is to celebrate the birth of Jesus the Christ.

While I was again reading events around the birth of Jesus, one of the things which stood out to me was the wise men. In their journey they followed the Star to Jerusalem without being discouraged. (Wise men today still seek Jesus.) They knew the prophecy of the coming Messiah. They asked king Herod, "Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east and are come to worship him." Matthew 2:2.

As the wise men continued, they followed the star to Bethlehem and it stood over where the young child lay. After they presented their gifts to King Jesus and worshipped him, they were warned by God to go back to their country another way. Yes my sisters and my brothers, once you meet Jesus, it is impossible to go home the same way.

For II Corinthians 3:17 tells us, "Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new person; old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.". That means you are going back where you were but in a different way.

Yes, your conversation and your speech will be different. Your attitude and your thinking will be different. The mind of Christ begins to develop in you. You begin to read and study the Word of God so you develop his thinking and his way.

After every Christmas season is a good time to example ourselves to see if we have the "real Christmas". Christ in your life is Christmas. Let's celebrate Christmas the real way. Let's do things his way. God says in Isaiah 55:8" For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord." So let's be wide and end the old year and start the new year another way, his way.
