A father's love

Posted

While we are living in a world today which is not safe, many are beginning to feel insecure here in the states because of dwindling water and food supplies. Yes, the fight is now on because of water rights.

Now, when I was growing up in the country on a farm, I never felt unsafe. I never felt insecure about food or anything. My father took care of everything. We always had more than enough to eat, but now that he is gone, my thought processes are different.

While living in the same place, the protection and security of my natural father is gone. Now, when I think of protection and provision, I think of my heavenly father. He was the one taking care of me all of the time. It came through my natural parents, but my God supplied all my needs.

In Luke chapter fifteen, Jesus tells of the greatest love story of a father and how he gave his son everything. When the son left home, he left his security and protection. He went out on his own. He lived a sinful life and threw everything away. His father knew what was going to happen, he just waited for his son to come home. He received him with open arms. He gave him more and blessed him.

So, today if you are feeling insecure and unprotected, return to God. Trust him in everything. He is your heavenly Father. He is already providing for you. He is waiting to receive you with open arms. That's the love of a father.
