2021 Wiregrass officers installed

The Wiregrass Chapter, Georgia Society Sons of the American Revolution, held its monthly meeting on Thursday night, Jan. 14, at the New China Restaurant at 6:30 p.m.  With President Wilder Smith presiding, there were 12 members and guests in attendance. In attendance were GASSAR Senior Vice President, David Jessel, and his wife, Brenda, who is the GASSAR Women's Auxiliary President. Senior VP Jessel installed President Wilder Smith Jr., Vice President Steve Burke, Secretary/Treasurer Colby Smith, Registrar Dess Smith III, Historian Ruskin Powell, Chancellor Julian Sconyers, Chaplain Emory Fennell, and Sgt-at-Arms George King as the 2021 Wiregrass Chapter officers. 
Senior VP Jessel then presented his program, titled "Needs of the Navy," which included many opportunities that Jessel enjoyed during his career in the U.S. Navy. 
Women's Auxiliary President Brenda Jessel addressed the chapter, which included a brief description of the GASSAR Women's Auxiliary. Brenda presented a U.S. Flag to President W. Smith and asked him to place it anywhere in Swainsboro that he wanted to. 

DAR member Ginny Smith also joined the GASSAR Women's Auxiliary as a lifetime member. DAR member Jane Durden is already a lifetime member of the Women's Auxiliary. 
Registrar Dess Smith III, also a dual member of the Brier Creek Chapter, presented DAR member Durden with a certificate of appreciation from President Lee Smith of the Brier Creek Chapter for all that Durden has done for him this past year.
