Daughtry speaks to Brier Creek

The Brier Creek Chapter, Georgia Society Sons of the American Revolution, held its monthly meeting Thursday night, April 4, at Walls Diner at 7 p.m. With President Wayne Howard presiding, they had 14 in attendance. After the Invocation, the Pledge to the U.S. Flag and the Pledge to the SAR, they were presented a program by Compatriot Hu Daughtry from the Mill Creek Chapter in Statesboro. Daughtry presented his program on "Irish American Patriots, in his Family". Compatriot Lee Herron then updated on the 250th Revolutionary War Georgia State Tag that is in approval stage by Governor Kemp. Herron then updated on the new Challenge Coin that is in production for the Brier Creek Revolutionary War Battlefield Association, Inc. These coins should be for sale in about a month at a cost of $20.00 each. Herron then presented Sgt-at-Arms Don Bazemore with three Chapter Flag Streamers. The Georgia Society Membership Award Streamer, the Distinguished Chapter Award Streamer, and the Chapter Education Outreach Streamer were awarded for 2023 at the Annual Georgia Society BOM Banquet in Atlanta on January 26 - 27, 2024.
