Anttle “Anthony” Lamar Ricks, age 50, passed away Friday, May 19, 2023, at Fairview Park Hospital in Dublin. A Homecoming Celebration was held Saturday, May 27, at 2 p.m. at St. Phillips Baptist Church with Elder Delmus G. Mosley presiding.

Anthony was born August 9, 1972, in Metter, to Mary Lou Williams Andrews and the late Bobby Ricks Jr. He attended Atlanta Technical College where he received his GED, then graduated from Werner Enterprise with his commercial truck driver license and became an owner operator in the trucking industry. Mr. Ricks is preceded in death by his father; siblings, Alexander Coppock, Nora Coppock, Sammy Coppock and Tommy Lee Ricks.

Mr. Ricks leaves to cherish his memories with his mother; life-long companion, Almira Tarver of Dublin; children, Anthony Ricks of Statesboro, Jacquetta Tarver, Tamira Phillips, Quintarah Ricks, all of Swainsboro, Gabriel Ricks of Dublin, Passion Ricks-Carr of Nebraska, and Ayanna Lloyd of Charleston, SC; grandchildren, Ahmad Tarver, Christian Cooper, Legend Hunter, all of Swainsboro, Gia’Ahni Washington-Carr and Pierre Washington-Carr, both of Nebraska; siblings, Charles Coppock of Atlanta, McKenny Ricks, Terrance Williams, both of Swainsboro, Donna Williams of Statesboro, Carolyn Ricks and Timothy Ricks, both of Augusta; three great-aunts; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Mosley’s Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
