Wounded Warrior pheasant shoot

Posted

On Saturday, January 28, a pheasant shoot for Wounded Warriors was held at Mont Royal Plantation in Swainsboro. There were more than 50 people who attended that included about 15 Wounded Warriors. There were 265 birds released of which 225 were killed. At the end of the shoot, the birds were divided equally amongst the shooters for them to take home and enjoy.

The event started around 7:45 a.m. with breakfast for those in attendance, followed by a safety briefing and instructions on the rules of the day for shooting. After the birds were taken to the clubhouse for photos and divided up, there was a BBQ lunch at Mont Royal Clubhouse.

Wounded Warriors Retreat is a Georgia 501-C non-profit that provides outdoor activities for our Wounded War Veterans. The mission is to get the WOUNDED Warriors outside and let them know: “They are not alone and they are not forgotten”.

There will be another pheasant shoot on February 25, at Mont Royal Plantation. The events are held for two purposes: so Soldiers can enjoy them and to raise funds in order to provide events.
