Romans 1:1Paul, a servant of Christ Jesus, called to be an apostle, set apart for the gospel of God
Paul ( who was Saul of Tarsus) . A servant of Christ : this is who he was!! His claim in life! His duty! A servant is one who does what he's told and a good servant doesn’t complain about it. He cares for what his MASTER has him doing. He cares about HIS MASTERS BUSINESS. Called to be an apostle;
Called by God?  Yes, in an unusual and totally breathtaking way, remember the road to Damascus??? This guy was all about persecuting Christians but then he met Christ!! He was called of God and he answered the call. He made his life a sacrifice for Christ and the gospel!

The church at Antioch recognized his calling and laid hands on him and Barnabus sending them out to reach the lost!
He was a set apart for the gospel of God!! This means he was chosen and specifically set apart for the sharing of the gospel! What a wonderful gift!! The gospel here means good tidings or good news of salvation. What a wonderful  message to be given to those who are lost and undone without God. How great it is to know your calling. It's easy to trust God when you know HE has called you!!
I know I'm called to preach, and I didn't have a Damascus road experience, but from the first time I ever preached or spoke in Jesus name, I came under the anointing! It is irreplaceable. You can't study and get it , you can't go  online and get a stamp of anointing to hang on the wall, a four year degree in seminary won't give you anointing, a masters nor doctorate in divinity won't give you anointing, you can't buy it and you will never receive it apart from the very God of all creation giving it you. Paul was  gifted to be an evangelist and an  apostle. He made the best of what God gave him by being faithful in his calling. He used the  anointing of the Holy Ghost and walked in God's will. Whatever God has called you to do, be faithful, for He who is faithful in what is least is faithful also in much; and he who is unjust in what is least is unjust also in much. This is stewardship and it usually  speaks of money but it can  apply in your gifting  as well. Have you been faithful with your gift from God? Is there room to grow? Only you can answer those questions. Peace, love and Jesus.
