The Wiregrass Chapter, Georgia Society Sons of the American Revolution, held its October 10 meeting at the New China Restaurant at 7 p.m. With President Wilder Smith Jr. presiding, there were 10 people in attendance.
Johnny Edwin "Jon" Tapley III was inducted as a member of the Wiregrass Chapter by President Smith. President Smith presented Compatriot Tapley with his NSSAR certificate and a rosette that is to be worn on his lapel. The rosette is blue and white, which represents the colors of the uniform that General George Washington wore during the American Revolutionary War. Compatriot Tapley's national number is 215966, and his patriot ancestor is Travis Thigpen.
