William Peterson Jackson, Sr., 71, passed away Tuesday, August 13, 2024. A Celebration of Life was held Friday, August 16, at 10:30 a.m. at Bark Camp Missionary Baptist Church in Midville.
Mr. Jackson was born February 21, 1953, in Midville, to the late Jones and Susan McClendon Jackson. He attended Burke County School and matriculated at Swainsboro Technical School and East Georgia College. William received certificates in welding, roofing, wood production and agriculture. Growing vegetables was his passion. William owned Pete Jackson Farms and worked hard to keep his customers pleased. He showed and expressed love with a giving heart, going the extra mile to help anyone in need. Mr. Jackson is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Ezekiel, Clarence, L.J., Ray, Milton and Seaborn; sisters, Lucille Johnson, Willie Mae McClendon and Dora Young.
Mr. Jackson leaves to cherish his memories with his loving and devoted wife of 50 years, Dr. Elvira Green Jackson; sons, William Jackson, Jr. (Andrea) and James Jones Jackson (Jessica); grandchildren, Andreana, Willow, Audrey, Jayden, Jaya and Winter; brothers, Walter, Leroy and Arthur; sisters, Agnes Williams and Dorothy Moore; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
