When we go through hard times following God, it doesn't necessarily mean that we've rebelled.

Deuteronomy 8

2 Remember how the LORD your God led you through the wilderness for these forty years, humbling you and testing you to prove your character, and to find out whether or not you would obey his commands.

3 Yes, he humbled you by letting you go hungry and then feeding you with manna, a food previously unknown to you and your ancestors. He did it to teach you that people do not live by bread alone; rather, we live by every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord.

If we have no food and we're hungry it would be easy to think God doesn't care. That doesn't sound like a blessing. However when you've just passed through the red sea that got parted before your eyes and that same water drowned the army that was chasing you, I'd say you were blessed. On the other hand when you get to the point of being hungry your attitude of gratitude will probably change into doubt and fear. Though they were hungry, God fed them at just the right time so that they would know that He was their provider! To see food falling from the sky that you can eat is a blessing. I don't want to go hungry to see it happen, but God fed them with this every day! They didn't have to have a pantry or anything on the road to the promised land. God gave them nutrition day by day!

How can we apply this to our lives? We should realize that whether our circumstances seem awesome or hopeless that God is still the One we should trust. We should realize that we need spiritual nutrition just as much if not more than we need food for our bodies. God wants us to have spiritual nutrition daily. We should pray and read our bibles daily! We should fellowship with other believers daily. We should attend church regularly and get involved in the areas that we are capable of serving in! God has a great plan for our lives, but we won't ever accomplish that plan if we don't do these simple things! Let's be brave and seek the Lord. The bible says if we seek Him, we will find Him!
