When All Hope is Gone

Today, things seem to be getting scarce. For whatever the reasons may be, items are getting "out of stock". Ordering parts are continually on back order. There is also a price increase with less content. Did you ever think eggs, a basic food, used in so many recipes would have such a price increase? Yes, things are getting progressively worse.

I want to share a passage of scripture which gave me hope now and for the future. In Luke chapter five. Peter, James, and John went fishing. That was their profession. That was the means of providing for their families. That was the way they provided shelter, paid the bills, and bought food and clothes. But on this fishing trip they worked all night long and did not catch anything. Imagine how they felt hopeless, thinking about going home empty.

But Jesus showed up. He taught the People from Peter's boat. Once he finished teaching, Jesus told Peter to go out into by the deep and let his net down for a draw of fish. Peter told Jesus, Master we have fished here all night long and there is nothing here but because you say so, I will do it. When Simon Peter obeyed Jesus, he caught so many fish that his net began to break. He had to call for the other boat for help and their boat was so full of fish that it began to sink.

So, when it feels like all hope is gone in your situations trust Jesus to deliver you and bring you through. It doesn't matter what you are toiling with. If there are things you have been carrying and worried about, give it to Jesus. He wants to relieve you of that situation.

I cast all your cares upon him for he cares for you. Proverbs, 3:5-7 tells us to "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not to your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him and he will direct your paths".
