We're expecting big changes to our weather beginning tomorrow (Friday) night into Saturday as a powerful storm system tracks across the Southeast region. Multiple, potentially high-impact weather hazards are expected across north and central Georgia.

The main highlights of expected weather hazards late Friday through Saturday:

Increasing threat of strong to severe storms across parts of central Georgia (mainly south of I-20 / east of I-85 Friday night/early Saturday morning

Damaging winds and tornadoes are primary threats

Rain changing to snow across parts of northwest and north GA late Friday night through Saturday morning (minor accumulations possible)

Windy conditions developing Friday night and continuing Saturday

Sustained winds 20-30 mph with gusts 30-45 mph likely

Very cold temperatures settling in by Saturday night across the entire forecast area

Lows will be in the teens to mid 20s across the area with wind chill values dropping to the 0-10F range (mainly north GA)
