Walter Henry Tapley, 77, resident of Swainsboro, died peacefully at home surrounded by family, Thursday, October 7, 2021. Graveside services were held Saturday, October 9, at 3 p.m. from Eastbrook Cemetery with Reverend Louis Pearce officiating. The Family received friends at Tomlinson Funeral Home Saturday, October 9, from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m.
Pallbearers were Travis Toole, Tony Toole, Mark Stevens, Walt Allen, David Thurman, and Grey Thurman. Honorary pallbearers were Elmer Thompson, Joey Kay, George Gruiff, Henry Terwilliger, and Wayne Folds.
Mr. Tapley was born in Emanuel County, to the late Walter Hinton Tapley and Thelma Kate Bishop Tapley. Walter is preceded in death by his parents, brother, David Tapley; and sister, Carolyn Tapley.
Survivors include his wife, Glenda Tapley; sons, Chuck Tapley (Michelle Tapley) and Chad Tapley (Stacey Tapley); grandchildren, Brittany Tapley, Quinton Tapley, Zach Gruiff, Cody Tapley, and MacKenzie Tapley; great-grandson, Liam Gruiff; brothers, Leland Tapley and Eddie Tapley; sisters, Lessie Beasley and Henrietta Toole.
Arrangements were by Tomlinson Funeral Home and Crematory.
