Virginia A. Steele Morris, 63

Virginia Ann Steele Morris, age 63, of Twin City, was called to her heavenly home on Friday, September 17, 2021. Funeral services were held Wednesday, September 22, at 11 a.m. at Johnson Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Garfield with Pastor Johnny L. Branch officiating.

Virginia was born February 15, 1958, to the late Tom and Ackines Steele. She graduated from Emanuel County Institute in 1976 and joined the US Army the same year and was an E4 Military Records Check Specialist for four years. Virginia was a faithful member of the Miller Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Statesboro. She was united in marriage to Jeffrey Morris, Sr. on June 25, 1980, and to that union, four children were born. Mrs. Morris is preceded in death by her parents; grandchild; and five siblings.

Mrs. Morris’ precious memories, unfailing love, and amazing legacy will be remembered by many who knew her and came in contact with her, but most importantly by her children, Shannon (Jimmy) Worthen of Swainsboro, LaKeya Morris (Travis) Keys of Dallas, Jessica Morris of Statesboro, and Jeffrey Morris, Jr. of Swainsboro; 13 grandchildren; a loving aunt; 12 siblings; a very close friend, Mr. Jack Smiley; and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews.
