Mrs. Vickie May Gay, 69, of Swainsboro, passed away Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at Pruitt Health following an extended illness. Funeral services were held Thursday, February 20, at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Chapman Funeral Home with Reverend Mark Hardin officiating. Interment followed in the Swainsboro City Cemetery. Family received friends Thursday, February 20, from 10 to 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Chapman Funeral Home.
Viokie was born February 27, 1955, in Swainsboro, to the late John A. Hooks and Burnell Fordham Hooks. Mrs. Gay is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenneth Gay; sister, Connie Newsome; and brother, J.W. Hooks.
Mrs. Gay is survived by her brother, Ronnie Hooks of Naples, FL; sister, Hazel Harris of Horton, AL; special friends, Topekia Carswell and Willie Williams, both of Swainsboro; best friend, Vickie Bird of Swainsboro; several nieces, nephews and many friends.
Chapman Funeral Home of Swainsboro was in charge of arrangements.
