Varsity Eagles continue to soar through season

David Emanuel Academy hosted Coastal Academy under the Stillmore Friday night football lights Friday, September 18.

Eagle points were first earned after Jesse Moore completed a 4-yard touchdown run. The two-point conversion attempt to follow was deemed unsuccessful.

The score increased 12-6 following a 6-yard run completed by Dane Arrington. The second two-point attempt was also deemed unsuccessful.

A 24-yard fumble recovery by Rylie Rowland added another touchdown score for the Eagles, and a one-yard run completed by Brayden Smith followed by one the first successful two-point attempt of the game increased the Eagle’s scoreboard 26-12. After a completed 3-yard run play by Moore, the score was 32-12.

A 48-yard pass from Booth to Moore increased the score to 38-12. Eagle scoreboard points increased to 46-12 following a 2-yard run completed by Timothy Braddock being backed by a valid two-point conversion play.

Moore ran the ball for a 41-yard play, increasing the score board to 52-18. A completed 2-point conversion play from Booth to Racyn Faircloth was deemed successful, tacking on an additional two eagle points for a 54-18 score.

Two final points were earned following a blocked punt by John Kersey out of the endzone. Interception plays were completed by Randon Williams and Riley Griner. The final score was 56-18.

Varsity Eagle football will hold off play this coming Friday, September 25, but will resume to its normal schedule Friday, October 2, and will host People’s Baptist Academy. Kick-off time is set for 7:30 p.m.
