Twin City off to a clean start

Posted

During it’s centennial celebration, Historic Twin City/Main Street and the entire community have joined forces this week for Twin City’s annual city-wide clean-up. The city asks that all city residents remove all trash, fallen tree limbs, broken playground equipment, discarded furniture, broken bikes, discarded containers, etc. from yard properties. All remaining items should be organized so they are not an eyesore to passing traffic. The city also asks that all disabled vehicles are removed from properties within city limits. If vehicles are no longer operational, they can be donated to the city for contact to be made with a salvage yard for removal purposes. Please call 478-763-2696 or 478-763-2695 to schedule a pickup date and time.

Dumpster details
Three dumpsters are available this week for residents to dispose of unwanted items. Flyers for dumpster locations can be located at Twin City businesses. The city request that no tires are placed in the dumpsters. On Saturday, April 17, from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m., a Twin City city employee will scan neighborhoods to pick up items placed on curbs. Twin City city employees will not go onto private property to pick up items.

Opportunity to sell
For items that are in usable condition but are no longer wanted or needed, community members can set up a booth at the welcome center to sell items. Space will be provided and this service is free. Contact should be made with the welcome center for individuals interested in setting up a booth. Setup will begin at 8 a.m. April 17.

The City of Twin City appreciates residents’ continued efforts in keeping the city clean. Also, be sure to drop by All the Fixin’s market this Saturday in Twin City!
