Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors announces the death of Mr. Timothy Stephen “Tim” Allmond, age 65, of Twin City, on Friday, March 10, 2023, at East Georgia Regional Medical Center in Statesboro. Funeral services were held Monday, March 13, at 3 p.m. in the Twin City United Methodist Church with Rev. Mark Miller and Rev. Randall Smith officiating. Interment followed in the Wimberly Family Cemetery near Twin City. The family received friends Monday, March 13, at the church from 2 to 3 p.m.

Pallbearers were Butch Brinson, Bob Watson, Lee Campbell, Johnny Johnson, Russell Hinson, Casey Lee, Jordan Coleman, and Ethan Coleman.

Mr. Allmond was born July 26, 1957, to the late Charles E. and Margaret Walls Allmond, in Peru, IN. He was a 1976 graduate of Emanuel County Institute where he excelled in football and baseball, and was an MVP Catcher for ECI. During his days living on McCoy Air Force Base in Orlando, FL with his parents, Tim was on the swimming and diving team. Many will remember Tim for his swimming and diving antics on the high dive at McKinney’s Pond and Fulmer’s Beach diving platform, as well as riding a unicycle. He became affectionately known as “Ranger Tim” during his 30 years as Park Ranger/Assistant Manager at George L. Smith State Park. In Tim’s spare time, he enjoyed wood working and wood burning. He attended Twin City United Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, Mr. Allmond is preceded in death by his sister, Maria Coleman; and brother, Tony Allmond.

Survivors include his loving wife of 44 years, Donna Wimberly Allmond of Twin City; daughter, Lori Allmond Phillips (Aaron) of Twin City; son, Sam Allmond (Kala) of Twin City; sister, Angie Lee (Dennis) of Statesboro; brother-in-law, Ricky Coleman of Swainsboro; grandchildren, Canady Cole and Ava James Allmond and Wimberly Reese and Waylon Reid Phillips; nieces, nephews and extended family.
