Last week, the SHS Track Team competed in the GHSA Class 2A State Track Meet. The team of Ty Adams, Qin Brown, Jordon Williams, Dermello Jones and alternate Solomon Johnson won the state championship for the 4x100 meter relay. They broke the school record with a time of 41.94 during prelims. Jaquavious Lattimore finished as the state runner-up in the high jump. Trevon Waller finished as the state runner-up in the 110 meter hurdles and fourth place in the 300 hurdles. Demello Jones finished seventh in the 100 meter dash and eighth in the triple jump. Last but not least, Ty Adams finished seventh in the 200 meter dash. Overall, the boys track team placed sixth.
