The Choice is Yours

Posted

I know today as we live collectively we have become more individualized. It has happened because of choices we made. While God left us free will to choose, we must realize that there are consequences for our choices. From an infant to the grave, we make choices. The good thing about being a child, when you have parents who make good decisions, they made good choices for us.

Let's look at the beginning. That's where everything started. Our first parents, Adam and Eve did not make good choices for us. They chose not to obey God so today here we are living in chaos because of poor choices by our first parents. Now that's the choice they made

So do we get stuck and continue to blame them for where we are? or do we make better choices. We choose what we eat, drink, and wear. We choose our friends, our mates and our community. Whatever you don't like, there is a way to make a change. I would like for you to choose to read Deuteronomy chapter eleven. I will make references to this chapter unless otherwise stated.

First Moses reminded the children of Israel of the miracles God had performed for them to set them free and also to provide for them. He commanded them to love the Lord thy God and keep his charge, statues, judgements and commandments. If they would make the good choices which he recommended, they would be strong, they would possess the land and they would have long life. If they loved the Lord thy God with all thy heart and soul, it would cause the land to be fertile and produce without the having to plant or irrigate as you see we do today. The choices they make would affect their children. They were commanded to teach the word of the Lord to their children.

Well today children make choices for themselves. They are taught to be selfish. We have chosen as a nation to do whatever we want to do. We call it, ,"my rights", but my rights end where yours begin therefore we must reason together.

Once the children of Israel made it to the promised land, they chose to follow other gods. Joshua 24:13-15 gave them an ultimatum. "...I have given you a land for which you did not labor, and cities which you did not build and vineyards and olive yards which you did not plant but you do eat….And if it seems evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye shall serve...but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord."

So today the choice is yours. Who is your house serving? Paul said in Romans 14:12"... every one of us shall give account of himself to God." Know that Moses said in Deut.30:19, "I call heaven and earth to record this day, against you, that I have set before your life and death, blessing and cursing, therefore choose life, that you and you seed may live."

When we choose life today, we choose Jesus. In John 10:10, Jesus said, "The thief comes not, but to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.". So today choose Jesus and choose life. The choice is yours!
