The Veterans at the Library held their weekly meeting at the Franklin Memorial Library Monday morning, May 5, at 9 a.m. With Chair Johnny Tapley presiding, they had 41 in attendance. The UDC provided a great breakfast of creamy grits, sausage biscuits, jelly, fresh fruit and Shari Watt furnished orange juice, cranberry juice, grape juice, apple juice and coffee. Chair Johnny gave an update on the "Veterans Cup Golf Tournament" that is scheduled for Saturday, May 17, at the Swainsboro Country Club. He said that there are still some openings for players making up three person teams. Daniels Chevrolet is sponsoring the "hole in one" prize of $10,000.00 for anyone having a hole in one, and there are plenty of door prizes to be given away.
