Tomlinson Funeral Home & Crematory announces the death of Mrs. Susan Carol Hooks Wilson, age 67, who entered into rest peacefully on Thursday, March 16, 2023. Funeral services were held Monday, March 20, at 1 p.m. at Norristown Baptist Church with Rev. Jack Whitehead officiating. The family receive visitors one hour prior to the service. A private family interment followed at New Hope Primitive Baptist Church in Lexsy with Rev. Phil Willson officiating.

Mrs. Wilson was born August 18, 1955, in Swainsboro, to the late Gerald Delano Hooks and Laura Sue Evans Hooks. She graduated from Swainsboro Tech as a registered nurse, and shortly thereafter, started a family and became a homemaker. In 1989, Mrs. Wilson moved to Evans where she successfully owned and operated The Granite Store. She returned home to Swainsboro in 2006, and obtained a Bachelor of Theology degree in 2014. Mrs. Wilson was faithfully devoted to serving the Lord as a member of Norristown Baptist Church. In addition, she spent many years as an active member of Aglow International and volunteered with the Prison Ministry. Mrs. Wilson will especially be remembered for her friendly smile, contagious energy, and immense love for her family, and will be greatly missed.

Survivors include her husband, Hal Wilson, Sr.; children, April Pond (Arvin), Brandon Lamb (Christy), and Jordan Lamb; grandchildren, Mason Pond, Claire Pond, and Mackenzie Lamb; siblings, Gerald D. “Jerry” Hooks, Jr., Evans Hooks (Kim), and Maribeth Hooks Clark (Aaron); special loved ones, Phil Wilson, Sandra Wilson McNeely, Hal Wilson, Jr., Hannah Wilson Larson, Hope Wilson Falotico, and their six children; extended family members; and many nieces and nephews
