The following occurred during the Emanuel County Superior Court April 2021 and July 2021 terms:
April 2021
Charles Smith negotiated a plea of guilty (alford) on one count possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, one count possession of cocaine, one count possession of firearm during the commission of a felony, one count misdemeanor – possession of marijuana, one count misdemeanor – possession of a drug related object, and one count possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He was fined $50 and sentenced to 45 years with the first 12 years to be served in confinement and the remainder on probation. The defendant is to receive credit for time served in custody as determined by the custodian. Upon service of 12 years, the remainder of the sentence may be served on probation; provided, that the defendant shall comply with the conditions of probations imposed by the court as part of this sentence. The court sentences the defendant as a recidivist under O.C.G.A. § 17-10-7(c).
Quinton Pearson negotiated a plea of guilty on five counts sale of cocaine and three counts sale of methamphetamine. He was fined $50 and sentenced to 30 years with the first seven to be served in confinement and the remained on probation. Upon service of 7 years, the remainder of the sentence may be served on probation; provided, that the defendant shall comply with the conditions of probations imposed by the court as part of this sentence.
In a separate criminal action case, Pearson also negotiated pleas of guilty on one count possession of cocaine, one count possession of marijuana, one count simple battery, one count criminal trespass, and one count possession of firearm by a convicted felon. For these offenses, He was fined $50 and sentenced to 15 years with the first seven to be served in confinement and the remained on probation. Upon service of 7 years, the remainder of the sentence may be served on probation; provided, that the defendant shall comply with the conditions of probations imposed by the court as part of this sentence.
July 2021
Kimberly Marie Farrow negotiated a plea of guilty (alford) on one count financial transaction fraud and one count forgery 4th degree. She was sentenced to 4 years probation and fined $50.
Dewayne Anthony McKinney negotiated a plea of guilty (alford) on two counts aggravated assault (FV). He was fined $50 and sentenced to 20 years with the first five years to be served in confinement and the remainder on probation. Upon service of 5 years, the remainder of the sentence may be served on probation; provided, that the defendant shall comply with the conditions of probations imposed by the court as part of this sentence.
