Stillmore Ladies Club

Posted

The Stillmore Ladies Club is a group of 13 ladies ranging in age from 64 to 92. They organized 22 years ago to give women a place to go and socialize, play games, snack, and do something beneficial for their town. They adopted the motto, “Make still more time to do still more things for Stillmore people”. Their primary money maker to support these projects is raffling a quilt (made by the group) at the annual Christmas parade. Over the years the group has provided the town with American flags, Christmas lights, cemetery fences, a gazebo, community house floor, city limit signs, etc. In addition, they support DEA and TCE with annual back to school supply donations as well as saving recyclables for the STEM teachers. Earlier this year the group made 82 adult bibs and donated them to the Twin City nursing home. Last month they installed 34 headstones at the Stillmore City Cemetery on graves with no markers or only small temporary markers. There are still unidentified graves that the ladies would like the public’s help in identifying. If anyone has any information about those sites, please contact Beverly at 912-562-4418 or Colleen at 770-362-7475. The group welcomes new members and meets the first Tuesday of each month. Come join the group!
