Staten Luther Sellers, 74, resident of Millen, died Sunday, June 6, 2021, in Select Specialty Hospital in Augusta after an extended illness. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 9, at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Tomlinson Funeral Home with Reverend Carroll Gay and Reverend Bill Lee officiating. Interment will follow at Hardens Chapel Church Cemetery near Lyons. The family received friends Tuesday, June 8, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Tomlinson Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Mike Gunn, Mike Henry, Ricky Henry, Lloyd Milholland, Noot Irvin, and Bo Bishop. Honorary pallbearer will be Bill Mixon.
Mr. Sellers was born in Emanuel County to the late Roy Ellis Sellers and Tina Lou Scott Sellers. He graduated from Swainsboro High School in 1965, then went on to graduate from Swainsboro Tech in 1967 with a degree in Machine Shop and Tool and Die. Staten was owner and operator of Sellers Machine Shop. Mr. Sellers loved to fish, especially on the Ogeechee River. He was an avid Georgia Bulldogs Fan, and enjoyed working on guns in his spare time.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Lekeeta P. Sellers of Millen; sister-in-law, Kim Meeks (Marc) of Vidalia; brothers-in-law, Craig Pittman (Leslee) of Vidalia and Chris Manthei (Debbie) of Allen, TX; numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Georgia Sheriffs Youth Home, Herrington Homestead, P.O. Box 155, Nunez, Georgia 30448 in memory of Mr. Staten Sellers.
