Officers with the Swainsboro Police Department (SPD) reported…

September 30

Officer responded to Hickory Trace in reference to someone being pushed.

Officer responded to Lincoln St. in reference to a dispute.

Officer received a tip from the DA’s office of a wanted person at D&I. When officer arrived on scene, offender was walking out of the store and noticed officers and started running through a trail beside the store. Officers proceeded to run after offender giving commands to stop and he refused and continued to run. Offender noticed officers closing in on him and started throwing baggies of white powder under a house, then continued to run, throwing more baggies. Suspect then hopped a fence and laid down in vegetation. Suspect was taken into custody and transported to EmCo Jail.

Officer was dispatched to Happiness Dr. in reference to caller stating a friend texted her stating she was locked in a bathroom because she was afraid of someone was in her house. It was determined that a verbal altercation occurred. Victim stated that the person that was locked up in the bathroom had already left. Officers checked to bathroom and didn’t find anyone, but did find a broken porcelain container and marijuana. When asked about the marijuana, victim and offender stated it was not there prior and must have been left by the other female.

October 1

Officers were dispatched to Wrens St. in reference to a domestic.

Officer was dispatched to Youngblood St. in reference to a person being kidnapped and being held against her will. 911 advised they received a call from a towing company stating they were contacted in reference to a vehicle needing a tire changed. Complainant told 911 she then received a text from the number that called asking if she could call 911 for her because it was the only way she could reach out. Officers knew the residents at the address and advised why they were there and they stated there was no one there besides them. Officers checked next door and was advised that the female subject was in the house but she had not been kidnapped. Victim went outside and was advised of why they were there and she stated that her ex-boyfriend probably called and texted the tow company because he has done stuff like that before. Female advised that her ex-boyfriend hacked her vehicle GPS at one point so he could locate her but has since had it reset. She further stated that her ex called Metter PD a short while prior and told them that she had been jumped on at the walking track and needed help. Female stated her ex uses a cell phone app so he doesn’t have to use his number when he does stuff like this. She also stated that she believes he is responsible for the text to the towing company.

October 2

911 dispatched officers to a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Calhoun St. and Herrington St. 911 advised that one person was on the ground not responding and one was still in the vehicle. Officer observed one male subject face down, ejected from the vehicle. The driver of the other vehicle was disoriented but responding. AirEvac was requested and EMS arrived on scene and transported the driver to the airport where he was air lifted to AUMC.

Officer was on scene of a fatal vehicle accident when complainant approached him in reference to criminal trespass. C/p reported that an unknown person attempted to kick in his garage door and broke the panel out of a bay window on the front of his house about two weeks ago and advised that he found a blanket and several pillows inside a closet and believes the3unknown person has been sleeping inside the house. The house is unoccupied and is currently under renovation.

Officers were dispatched to Harvey’s for a man urinating on the floor in front of a female worker in the back storage area. While speaking with the suspect, it was observed that he had glossy red eyes, slurred speech and a strong smell of alcohol. Suspects property was given to his girlfriend and he was taken into custody and transported to EmCo Jail.

October 3

Complainant went to SPD to make a report about hitting a deer.

Complainant went to SPD to report his tag lost or stolen.

October 4

Officer was dispatched to Moreland Ave. in reference toa female who kept calling the business and threatening employees. Complainant advised that offender stated she was going to kill them and burn the building down.

Complainant went to SPD and stated she needed to report a theft of four diamond rings and a diamond necklace. Officer placed offender under arrest while at Municipal Court for an outstanding probation warrant.

Officer responded to Gumlog Rd. in reference to a stolen vehicle.

Officer was dispatched to E. Pine St. in reference to someone riding by threatening to kill her son. Complainant stated she was on the way home and someone called her and told her that a subject with a mask on was holding up a gun and left with a female. Officer received info that the described vehicle was on Lucky St. and when he approached the driver and questioned him, he stated he did not have a weapon. Permission was given to search the vehicle.
