Officers with the Swainsboro Police Department (SPD) reported…

October 4

Officer was dispatched to Kite Rd. in reference to an irate customer. Complainant reported that he was in the process of trading a vehicle with customer when the brother/offender arrived on scene and began shouting and cussing at the customer. C/p reported that he intervened in an effort to de-escalate the situation but offender then began shouting at him. No reports of physical altercation were made. C/p stated he did not want offender back on the property. Officer issued offender a criminal trespass warning and explained he would be arrested if he returned. Offender left the scene.

Officer responded to Huddle House in reference to a customer that would not leave when asked to leave. Officer made contact with offender who was actively arguing with c/p. Officer asked offender to step outside and talk with him and explained that the staff wanted him to leave. Offender stated he was upset because they told him to pay for his food before they would cook it. Officer told offender that was their right as a business to ask for payment first. Officer also explained that they had the right to refuse to serve him and that the staff wanted him to leave so he had to leave. Officer then advised offender that if he had an issue with the way the staff handled the situation, he could contact the owner/corporate about it. Officer spoke with c/p who stated offender ordered his food and when she told him the price and asked for payment, offender said he would pay after his food was cooked. C/p stated she told offender that there was a new policy that states to-go-orders have to be paid before the order is cooked and offender started arguing and she told him to leave, but he refused to leave.

November 5

Officer observed a vehicle with a headlight out, at which time he conducted a traffic stop. Officer approached the vehicle and asked for the driver’s license and proof of insurance and offender stated his license are suspended for failure to appear. The driver exited the vehicle and was placed under arrest for driving on suspended license.

Officers were dispatched to Harvey’s in reference to a theft by taking. Officer spoke with complainant who stated when she was leaving the store, a woman that she knows offered to help her load her shopping bags into her car. C/p stated she had a small purse containing $86 and her license that was under the bottom of the shopping bags inside her cart. C/p stated that as offender was placing bags in her car, offender grabbed her purse and asked if it belonged to c/p and she replied yes, and offender threw the purse in the back of her car with the other bags. C/p stated she saw a single $1 bill and a $5 fall out of the purse onto the ground under her car and after she recovered the money, she went to put it in her purse and found the other money missing. C/p stated that offender then walked away, but knows where she hangs out.

Officer responded to King Circle Dr. and met with complainant and father of victim who stated that while his son was outside playing, the neighbor’s dog got loose and attacked his son. Victim had scratches all over his body and also had bite marks on his arm. Officer then went next door to speak with the home owner and dog owner. When he knocked, some children came to the door and stated that the home owner went to the store. They called him and officer spoke with him on the phone and he said he would be back in 5 mins. Officer also called Animal Control due to the dog at large and the child getting attacked. When offender arrived, he stated that the dog was on a leash but somehow broke loose. Officer also asked if his dog had all of its vaccinations and he stated all except rabies. Officer then informed offender and victim that he should go to the hospital to get checked out.

Officer met with complainant at the SPD in reference to a recovered debit card. C/p stated the card was located in the ATM at Queensborough Bank.

Officer responded to E. Main St. in reference to a domestic dispute. Upon arrival, he met with victim and she stated that she and her ex-husband got into an argument and he threatened her and told her that he would die. She then showed the text messages where he sent her several messages back-to-back, calling her names and accusing her of cheating. In the messages, offender stated that he was at WalMart and that he was “strapped” and ready to die tonight. While reading the texts, officer did not see any messages threatening victim. After speaking with victim, officers found offender in WalMart parking lot and could smell alcoholic beverage coming from his person, and he admitted to drinking. Officer asked if he had a gun and he did not answer, just raised his hands in the air. Knowing that he was intoxicated and had made comments that he was going to die and he was strapped, officer performed a terry frisk for officer safety. Once officer was sure offender did not have a weapon, he then asked what was going on with him and his ex-wife. Offender stated that he was very angry with her because she sent their children to stay with her mother so that she could go out on a date. He stated that one of his daughters was molested and physically abused at her mother’s house ad stated that the incident had already been reported. While speaking with offender, he made comments that he could not take it anymore and he was willing to die. Officer asked if he wanted to harm himself and he first stated no, then stated that it did not matter because he was ready to die. After making these comments, officer was worried that he may have been suicidal so he advised offender that he would be taking him to EMC for a mental health evaluation. After arriving at EMC, officer stayed with offender as he checked in. Offender was verbally defiant and stated that he did not want to stay at the hospital. Officer advised him that for his safety, he had to have him evaluated. Offender then stated that he did not want to kill himself and that he only told his ex-wife that because he was angry. After checking in, while speaking with the ER doctor, offender denied wanting to kill himself and the doctor advised officer that he saw no need to hold offender and that he did not believe him to be in danger to himself. Officer explained to the doctor what offender stated and the doctor stated that he did not believe him to be a threat to himself and would not pursue a 10-13. Officer then advised offender of remedies and services for his issues with his wife.

November 6

Officer was dispatched to McLeod Bridge Rd. in reference to an altercation. Officer met with complainant who stated that her boyfriend and another male were arguing because her boyfriend asked the other male to change a $20 bill and he told him no and called her boyfriend a name and head butted him. C/p stated she heard something outside no long after and the other male was outside of her front window saying he was going to kill her boyfriend and she saw him pull a pistol out of his waist band and she told her kids to get down and get in the back. C/p stated that her boyfriend then left the scene quickly, but he would not file a report because he never does. Officers searched the area and did not find anyone walking or a vehicle near the residential neighborhood.

Officer met with complainant at the SPD in reference to a damaged vehicle. C/p stated he was driving on Calhoun St. and struck a pothole in the road causing both right tires to deflate.

November 7

Officer met with complainant on N. Racetrack St. in referenced to a theft. Victim stated that him and three suspects were inside his house playing around and one suspect started to get out of hand and he had him on the ground trying to gain control of him. C/p stated that another suspect left the residence and got into a vehicle and left. C/p stated he looked around and his pistol that was on the table was gone and he believes suspect took it. The suspect was inside his residence next door. Officer went next door and suspect came to the door and started explaining what was happening. Officer told him what was reported and asked if they could search his house for the pistol and he stated they could not search his residence. Officer then asked if he could frisk him for a weapon and he did consent to that search. Nothing was found on him. Suspect’s girlfriend came to the door and she also denied consent to search the residence. C/p then stated he thought one of the suspects might have taken it because he left walking down the road while officers were talking to the other suspect. Back-up arrived and searched the area neighborhood but could not find suspect.

Officer responded to W. MLK Blvd. in reference to a broken window. Complainant stated two unknown females busted out her kitchen window and she then punched the window out the rest of the way which resulted in two small cuts on her hand. Officer went inside the residence and did observe busted glass on the floor under the kitchen window. When asked who it could have been, c/p stated she had been having problems with assorted females regarding her ex-boyfriend. EMS evaluated c/p’s hand and bandaged it. Officer did observe possible camera angles on W. MLK that could have captured the incident, and advised c/p to call if there were any other issues.

Officer responded to King Circle Dr. in reference to a domestic dispute. Officer made contact with complainant and another officer made contact with offender. C/p stated she went to the living room to get tissue and offender started cussing at her and telling her not to touch his stuff and jumped on her and began choking her and hit her on the head causing a lump. Officer did not observe any markings on c/p’s neck and could not tell if there was a lump on her head. Officer then spoke with offender who stated c/p went to get a tissue and he told her not to touch his stuff and c/p grabbed his hair and began pulling him by his hair and he started swiping at her arms to break her loose. No injuries were observed. Due to not observing any injuries and not being able to determine a primary aggressor, both parties were advised of the warrant process. Offender left the residence.

Officers were dispatched to Moreland Ave. in reference to a roommate kicking their door in because the other roommate had gone out the night prior. Officer was greeted at the door by a male identified as offender. He explained that the roommate was his child’s mother and she was upset because they have a child and she asked him to smoke outside but he said he was not because it was too cold and that their child stayed the night somewhere else and this was his house. Officer then went in the back room with c/p explained that offender and her are not in a relationship and they were just roommates and he was her child’s father. She also said that once offender began smoking in the house, she went in the room and locked the door because offender was upset that she went out the night before which resulted in offender allegedly kicking her bedroom door in, pushing her towards the bed while having his hands around her neck. C/p then stated that she hit him in the head with her phone and threw a glass like item at him because she was tired of doing this every other day. C/p was looked at and no visual markings were present on her neck. Officers then explained the resources available to c/p, and explained to both parties of options they have to go through magistrate court.

Officer spotted a vehicle that matched the description that they had knowledge that did not have valid insurance and the driver had suspended license. Once the vehicle passed, officer could tell it was not the same vehicle, but the tag reader alerted that the tag was expired and had no insurance. Officer then got behind the vehicle to conduct a traffic stop, and offender refused to stop. At this time, 911 advised that the offender called them and stated that he was going to a family member’s house, he then stopped. Officer approached the vehicle and asked offender to step out and once he stepped out, he was placed under arrest. While in route to the jail, officer noticed that the name of the vehicle was someone different than offender and asked whose car he was driving and he said his. Officer then realized that the tag was read wrong by the tag reader ad was put in incorrectly with GCIC. Officer then advised offender of the misread and was taking him back to his vehicle to release him. Officer did advise offender that when police attempt to stop him, he needs to stop.

Officer responded to N. Coleman St. in reference to someone on complainant’s property. Victim stated 3 males and 1 female went in her yard from the back and one male stated “oh – they door open” and then walked to the front and was standing by her vehicle. C/p stated they then left and went behind the houses. Officer performed a search of the area but nobody was found.

Officer responded to King Circle Dr. in reference to a theft. Complainant stated offender busted into the home and took $3500 cash from his wallet and left. Officer did observe damage to the bottom tow hinges of the front door and the door would not close properly. C/p advised that offender left for the day and night due to an altercation that took place the previous night. When asked where she could have stayed, c/p advised she could be at her sister’s house. Officer relocated to Marion St. and spoke with offender’s sister who stated she dropped her off at her car earlier in the night and had not seen her since.

November 8

Officer responded to SPD to speak with complainant in reference to damage to vehicle. C/p stated she had been having problems with offender and that they have been arguing in reference to c/p’s boyfriend and earlier that day, when she dropped off her boyfriend at his grandmother’s house, she was waiting for them and an argument ensued and offender went to the passenger side of the vehicle where the boyfriend was sitting and broke the passenger side front window of her vehicle. C/p stated that offender had been sending threatening text messages.

Officers were dispatched to Marino St. in reference to the caller stating her boyfriend had hit her in the face and busted the windshield of her vehicle. Complainant was standing beside her car and officer observed the front windshield had a busted spot in the middle closer to the passenger side. C/p stated that while taking her boyfriend to work, he became irate and threw his phone against the windshield causing it to break. C/p stated that when she got closer to where she dropped him off for work, he struck her car with his hand.

Officer observed a vehicle with no valid insurance and registration had been suspended, at which time he initiated a traffic stop. Passenger of the vehicle stated the vehicle had valid insurance but upon verifying it through the insurance company, it was in fact suspended for non-payment.
