Officers with the Swainsboro Police Department (SPD) reported…

August 24

Officers were dispatched due to an abandoned car on the side of the road. The officers attempted to contact the owner, but were unsuccessful. The vehicle was towed. 

August 27

Officers were dispatched in reference to a criminal trespassing from three males in a white SUV. 

Officers were dispatched in reference to a fight in a local restaurants parking lot. One female stated, “I did it”, that she had the victim on the ground and was hitting her and choked her with both hands. She states that is her ex and she was trying to fight her sister earlier that night. She states the victim hit her In the face first. The victim states she was attacked by the female, but did not hit her first. The female finally admitted she was not hit in the face first, but hit on the arm and then she started hitting the victim. She was arrested and transported to jail. The victim was transported to the hospital to be examined. 

August 28

Officers were dispatched in reference to a female wanting to leave, but the boyfriend would not let her. She wanted to leave him and he would not leave to go to work because he didn’t want her to leave him. The female’s sister came to pick her up. 

Officers were dispatched in reference to an individual who did not belong on the property that had already been asked to leave. 

Officers were dispatched in reference to a female whose car was in the ditch. The officer stated he would have to call a towing company in order to get the vehicle out of the ditch. She did not want to do that. The officer asked her where her keys were and she stated her girlfriend had them. They got into an altercation and she took the keys with her when she left. 

August 29

Officer got behind a vehicle while patrolling the streets and noticed that this vehicle did not have a tag light. The officer pulled the vehicle over and ran the driver’s information. His license came back suspended for child support obligations with no serve date. 

Officers were dispatched in reference to a mental patient that was transported to the emergency room. The female was acting irate and threatening all of the nurses and everyone in the hospital. The hospital turned her back over to the officers and the officers tried to take her to jail, but they were unable to at this time. She was released back to her family. 

Officers were dispatched in reference to a stab victim at a hospital in another town. The male stated he was in the hood gambling when he got stabbed in the back. He was unaware of the name of the street, but he knew it was in Swainsboro. He still had the knife in his back when he got to the hospital and that he knew who stabbed him and he was going to take care of it himself. 

Officers were dispatched in reference to multiple calls stating there was a woman walking around in her underwear, knocking on doors. She had her 8-year-old daughter with her, almost getting hit by a car on the road. The officer tried to talk her into letting her daughter go back home because she was walking on gravel with no shoes, the mother kept refusing, but finally agreed. She then knocked the officers glasses off of his face, due to the physical contact with the officer she was arrested for simple battery against a police officer. 

Officers were dispatched in reference to a truck trailer parked on their property. They attempted to get the driver to move it, but they were unable to contact them. A towing company was called and the trailer wad removed. 

August 30

Officers were dispatched in reference to someone threatening to poison their dog. They flipped out over a garden container in their back yard. 

Officer was patrolling the streets when he initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle. The driver got out and informed the officer that she just got the vehicle and has applied for the tag and it has insurance. All of that checked out, but the driver’s license was suspended due to outstanding warrants and failure to appear. She was arrested and transported to jail. 

Officers were dispatched in reference to a female that came to her house and refused to leave. 

Officer was patrolling the streets and saw a man who he knew had a suspended license. He attempted to conducted a traffic stop, but the male pulled into a parking lot and switched off the vehicle and quickly walked away from the vehicle towards the hotel office. He was placed under arrest and transported to jail. His mother who was inside of the hotel asked if she could keep the vehicle with her, the officer agreed. 

August 31

Officers were dispatched in reference to a caller wanting to speak to an officer. The female informed the officer that she is in a group on social media where a woman is abusing her small child. She showed the officer the pictures and videos and informed him on who she is and where she lives. There was a message in the chat from the mother stating she was going to kill the infant and the father of the child. The officer contacted DFACS and made the report. The mother has been arrested and the child was okay and at the hospital receiving treatment for injuries sustained. 

Officers were dispatched in reference to a domestic in progress. Occupants in an apartment near them stated there was screaming and hollering coming from that apartment. The woman in the apartment stated that everything was fine and they needed to check their own apartment.
