May 6
Officers took a report from a woman stating that about a week ago her vehicle was hit at a local store, causing damage to the passenger front and busted a light.
May 13
Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that was going 58 MPH in a 35 MPH zone. The driver stated he did not have his license on him, but gave the officer his name and date of birth. The officer ran his information in the system, then went back to the vehicle and informed the driver his license was suspended. He was arrested and transported to jail.
Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driving with no headlights. The officer ran the tag and it came back with suspended registration and stated there is no insurance on the vehicle. The drivers mother was in the passenger seat and was getting loud and cursing at the officer about not having insurance. The officer attempted to explain the citation to the mother, but she continued cursing towards the officer. The daughter/driver apologized to the officer for her mothers behavior.
Officers responded in reference to damage to property. The man explained to the officer that he lived with this Aunt, cousins, and other people and that he went for a walk, but when he came back home to play his video game, the disk was severally scratched up and he thinks someone did it on purpose.
Officers were dispatched to the local hospital in the emergency room in reference to a male subject with two gunshot wounds. Officers later discovered that he was dropped off at the ER. The man informed the officer that they were arguing because another man was romantically involved with another woman.
Officers were dispatched in reference to a terroristic threat. The man stated that he had been driving a woman around and he dropped her off at a local convenient store and informed her that he would not be driving her anymore. She responded with "That's alright, My brother has an AK-47 that can take care of you." The brother was not on the scene at this time.
Officer noticed that a vehicle was pulled over on the side of the road and had a flat tire. The officer stopped to see if he could assist the driver, but she stated her father went to get everything they needed to fix it. The driver stated that she was driving when she noticed a big pile of dirt in the road with bricks in it, which caused her flat tire. The officer went to where the driver stated the dirt pile was and spoke with a man who was the project supervisor, informing traffic to slow down and go around the dirt pile until the clean-up crew could get there and clean up the debris. The dirt pile was from one of the dump trucks from tearing down an old building, the truck driver made a turn and debris fell out. The tire damage will be handled per the project supervisor.
Officers were dispatched in reference to a man stating his neighbors dog got out and killed his three goats. The dog owner did not think that his dog killed them, but since his dog was out he stated he would pay the expenses for them.
Officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle going 61 MPH in a 35 MPS school zone. The officer informed the driver of why he was bring stopped and he noticed a strong odor of alcohol on the drivers breath. The driver stated he only had one shot earlier. The officer got his breath test and explained how to property use it. The driver blew and failed the test. The officer showed him that he failed the test and informed him that he was going to be placed under arrest for driving under the influence. The driver was begging the officer not to charge him and began backing up as if he was going to run. The officer went to place him in handcuffs and he ran back to the vehicle and took off. The officer requested for backup and notified Emanuel County 911 and GSP that he was in a chase. The driver was heading back through the school zone, towards town and gaining speed running about 70 MPH. The driver had a delivery sign on top of his vehicle that flew off in the air. The driver pulled over and tried to run on foot, he was given commands and he did not comply. Officers had to go hands on and physically put him on the ground. Once on the ground, weapons were holstered and he was placed under arrest. He was transported to jail and given multiple citations.
May 14
Officer was dispatched in reference to a woman wanting to make a report on her nephew for taking her TV. The nephew stated he had taken he TV to his grandmothers residence due to his gaming system being broken, but that he was going to give the TV back but his aunt and cousin became combative, so he did not. He was arrested and taken to jail.
Officer was in attempt to serve a FTA bench warrant and the man was arrested without incident on the failure to appear bench warrant. The male subject stated he was having some medical issues and had an appointment he needed to make in the morning. He was transported to the jail.

May 15
Officer was patrolling the area of S. Circle when he noticed a vehicle with one taillight and it was going off and on. By the time the officer caught up with the vehicle, he was on Electric Rd., at which time he activated his emergency equipment and conducted a traffic stop. Before approaching the vehicle, the tag was run and found to have suspended registration and no valid insurance. When make contact with the driver, he stated he was aware of the taillight and he had just picked it up from his wife so he could go to work. He further stated that he did not have a clue that he did not have insurance. Officer then asked for his license and he stated he did not have any and that they were suspended.
Officer was dispatched to N. Coleman St. in reference to an individual busting a window. Upon arrival, contact was made with complainant who stated she was laying in bed and heard a loud noise against her bedroom window and jumped up and ran to the hallway with her daughter, at which point she looked outside and saw an individual’s truck in the road with the hazards on. C/o stated she and her daughter heard the windows in her bedroom bust and ran outside and got into her neighbor’s car. C/o stated she did not see anyone inside or outside of the vehicle. C/o further stated she had received numerous calls that she ignored from the individual prior to the incident. Officer walked around the back of the apartment where two broken windows were completely shattered. Inside the house in the bedroom was a large quantity of glass.
Officer was dispatched to Days Inn in reference to a damaged vehicle. Complainant stated he went outside and observed a dent in the front right door of his vehicle.
Officer was traveling on S. Main St. when he observed a vehicle with the driver being known to have a bench warrant, at which time he turned around and caught up with the vehicle. The vehicle turned into Harvey’s and the officer made contact after he parked. Officer informed the driver of the bench warrant for his arrest and he was placed under arrest.
Officer was dispatched to WalMart in reference to a male wanting to file a report about trying to send money via WalMart to WalMart and the transaction not going through. Upon officer’s arrival, he met with c/o at the Service Desk. C/o stated he had sent money this way several times in the past but had recently had his credit locked due to someone possible using it in NC to fraudulently purchase a vehicle and his lawyer advised him to make a report of this incident. WalMart refunded c/o his money while officer was on scene.
Officer was dispatched to Crump St. in reference to someone entering into complainant’s residence. Upon arrival, no one was found to be at the residence and it was secure. Officer contacted 911 and asked for the phone number of the c/o. Officer then contacted the c/o who advised that her neighbor called her as the offender was on her property. According to the c/o, the neighbor informed her that a truck pulled into her residence and exited the vehicle and went to the front door where he knocked. When no one went to the door, the male went back to the truck and spoke with a female passenger. Once finished speaking with the female, offender returned to the door at which point he opened the door and went inside. The neighbor stated the male did not stay inside long before going back outside and getting into his truck. C/o advised that her boyfriend had been trying to assist offender into getting back on his feet but offender should not have had a key to the residence. C/o also advised that there was nothing of offender’s inside the residence and he should not have gone out there for anything.
Officer was dispatched to Bell St. in reference to complainant stating her ex-boyfriend has been harassing her via cellphone. C/o stated he keeps telling her that they haven’t broken up and that they are still together and that offender told her that if she didn’t talk to him that he was going to go to her house.
May 17
Officer was dispatched to WalMart in reference to damage to a vehicle. Upon arrival, officer spoke with complainant who stated that while traveling through the parking lot, he swerved to miss a vehicle that was about to hit him and when he swerved, he struck a concrete pole causing damage to his vehicle.
Officer responded to N. Green St. in reference to terroristic threats. Upon arrival, officer met with complainant who stated that while video chatting with offender via FB he became irate when she turned down his relationship advances. C/o stated that offender opened up two gun cases, both containing a pistol, and advised he would “take care of her”. C/o advised she has not had contact with offender since she hung up on him, but they had been “talking” about two months ago but it didn’t work out and she is now seeing someone else and that’s why offender is upset.
May 18
Officer was assisting a deputy who had been walking near the college. While assisting, it was learned that offender had an active warrant and was placed under arrest.
May 19
Officer responded to Latitude 105 in reference to a report of threats being made from a female that lived there. Upon arrival, officer observed offender standing at the front door yelling at someone in the parking lot. Officer exited his patrol unit and addressed offender about her yelling and the complainant started yelling at the officer that she called him and he was walking towards offender. Officer advised c/o to stay at her vehicle and he would speak to her after speaking to offender. Officer got offender to calm down and walked over to c/o who stated that offender posted a post on social media threatening her and her family. Officer told c/o that he would do a report for her but she was in the wrong for going to where offender resides knowing that offender had made threats. C/o then stated she wanted police to respond so they could speak with both parties at the same time. Officer advised c/o to stay away from offender’s residence and she agreed and left. Officer spoke with offender who stated that c/o had threatened her and took people to her residence to jump on her. Offender stated the issue stemmed from a fight she had with c/o’s daughter previously. Officer advised offender to not post inflammatorily posts on social media and that c/o stated offender threatened to go to her residence and advised that she needed to stay away from c/o’s residence and that c/o was advised to stay away from offender’s residence.
May 20
Officer was dispatched to N. Coleman in reference to an aggressive dog. Upon arrival, officer met with complainant who stated he was riding his bike and a pit bulldog bit his boot. Animal control was called for the dog at large and due to it biting an individual. Upon arrival, the dog went into a bush and it was found that the dog had a litter of puppies inside the bush, which could have been the reason for the aggression.
May 21
Officers were dispatched to N. Coleman St. in reference to a female who was assaulted by offender and was said to have a gun. Upon arrival, contact was made with complainant who was upset and holding ice on a large knot on her forehead. C/o stated she and a friend were sitting in the car when offender went up and attacked the individual. C/o stated she got out of the car screaming, asking offender why he was doing this and offender went around the car and attacked her. C/o stated she was struck twice with a closed fist but didn’t think she ever lost consciousness, just got dizzy. C/o further stated people began to intervene and she was able to get away and walked around the block to N. Coleman St. No contact was made with offender. A written statement was provided by c/o and body worn camera footage of her injuries were captured. A warrant will be taken out on offender for battery family violence. C/o and offender are not married and do not share children but have prior cohabitation. C/o stated she is in fear of her life because offender is stalking her, therefore she is going to pursue a TPO.
